Newport News Library Hosting Free Teen Comic Con

Tidewater Comic Con is this weekend, but if you’re short on cash, don’t want to head down to Virginia Beach or you want to take your kids somewhere just for them, Newport News Main Street Library has the answer.

On Saturday, May 16, teens ages 12 to 17 are encouraged to attend the second annual ToshoCon Anime/Comic Convention from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Convention attendees can expect to see crowds of exuberant teens wearing face paint, neon-colored wigs, fluffy multi-colored tails, and horns roaming the library.

This free event boasts a day full of anime screenings, gaming competitions, dance, music, photoshoot station, craft and vendor tables in addition to the widely popular CosPlay contest. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day in addition to the CosPlay contest prizes for first, second, and third place winners.
