Newport News Restaurant Holds Benefit to Help Veterans

A benefit was held at a Newport News restaurant Thursday night to help veterans and their families.

Bailey’s in Newport News teamed up with the Virginia Wounded Warrior program.

The restaurant offered discounts on some of their most popular dishes.

Organizers say it’s important to give back the military community for all the sacrifices they make for this country.

Carol Berg with the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program said, “Our services support access to behavioral health care, access to rehabilitative services, and supportive services. We do care coordination with our veterans to make sure they get connected to care, get access to disability benefits, get access to the VA Medical Center care that they are eligible for, and we make sure that any needs they have are met in their community.”

Bailey’s is donating 10 percent of Thursday’s sales to the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program.
