Nominate a Virginia Teacher for the Super Teacher Awards

The Virginia Lottery needs your help to honor an outstanding public school teacher!

You can nominate a teacher for the 10th annual Super Teacher Awards now through Feb. 13.

Since 2008, the Super Teacher program has honored 72 teachers and awarded more than $288,000 in prizes.

From this year’s nominees, eight Virginia educators will be selected as the 2017 Super Teachers, winning $2,000 from the Virginia Lottery and $2,000 in classroom supplies from The Supply Room Companies.

The 2017 Super Teachers will be selected by a panel of distinguished educators and community leaders, including:

  • Dr. Jo Lynne DeMary, former State Superintendent for Public Instruction
  • The Honorable James W. Dyke, former Virginia Secretary of Education
  • Dr. Martha Ross, professor emerita, James Madison University
  • Jane Broe, president of the Virginia Parent Teacher Association
  • Jason Long, Super Teacher 2016, Lucy Addition M.S. (Roanoke)

Anyone 18 or older can nominate a Virginia pre-K-12 public school teacher. Learn more here.

Winners will be announced online in spring, and through a surprise presentation in each winning teacher’s hometown.
