If you have a son getting ready to head to back to school in Norfolk, they could get a free haircut and along with some encouraging words.
The Norfolk Police Department is hosting their second annual Five-O and Fades Back to School Haircuts event on Sunday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Southside STEM Academy on Campostella Road.
400 kids will get a free haircut to help get fresh and ready to go back to school. The first 300 kids will also receive a free backpack.
In addition to free haircuts, the event will feature a block party atmosphere of games, free food and fun activities to include K-9 and bomb robot demonstrations and social services information.
According to Norfolk police, they’ve partnered with 7-Eleven, SunTrust Bank and A Mother’s Cry 16, the Five-O and Fades barbers and Norfolk Public Schools to make this event happen.
Youth need to be accompanied by an adult to receive a haircut, but there is no limit to how many kids an adult can bring to receive free cuts.
