One lucky student from Old Dominion University won a scooter from the Virginia Lottery’s “Ride into Fall Promotion.”

Katie Gronto, an online student at ODU, entered the contest just before the Nov. 18 ODU home football game. Her name was drawn out of 1,704 entries, according to the Virginia Lottery.

She received her prize on Feb. 9 from the Virginia Lottery’s “Game Guy,” ODU Mascot Big Blue and some members of the ODU cheer team.

The “Ride into Fall Promotion” was held before nine athletic events this past autumn at Virginia colleges and universities. Anyone 18 or older could stop by the Virginia Lottery tent for prizes, We’re Game for Education Scratcher tickets, and a chance to enter for the scooter.
