Being the person that constantly takes pictures of their food for social media will now help someone in need in the Hampton Roads’ community.

The Virginia Beach Restaurant Association (VBRA) has a “Share Your Plate” initiative to help donate meals to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.

Here’s how it works:

-Head to a restaurant that is a member of the VBRA between Memorial Day and Labor Day
-Take a picture of your meal at the restaurant
-Post the picture of your meal to your Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter, tagging the restaurant you are at and using the hashtag #ShareYourPlateVB in the post

After Labor Day, the VBRA will tally up the posts and donate a meal for each one to the foodbank.

The VBRA also said in a press release that Waterman’s Surfside Grille, Chix Seaside Grille, 1608 Crafthouse, Esoteric, 11th Street Taphouse, Ice House Restaurant, Java Surf and more will be donating to the foodbank, respectively.
