Register for Norfolk Public Library’s Summer Reading Program

Keep your kids away from the dreaded “summer slump” and enroll them in Norfolk Public Library’s Summer Reading Program! Don’t worry about them losing interest or getting bored… this year’s program promises to be a fun one with a musical theme “Read to the Rhythm.”

Online registration begins on June 20, 2015 at norfolkpubliclibrary.org/SRP. The program runs until August 1, 2015 and all ages can participate. Participation is easy! Read books, attend free events, and earn prizes.

This year Norfolk Public Library offers “Rock Star Teens.” Upon registering for the summer reading program, teens are given a “Backstage Pass.” The teens then get marks for every tween or teen program attended. After logging 300 reading minutes and attending six events, passes may be exchanged for one entry into a drawing for a $50 Hot Topic gift card.

The Library is also working with local organizations such as the YMCA, Virginia Aquarium, the Virginia Living Museum, the Virginia Air & Space Center, and the Hampton Roads Naval Museum to offer additional programs appealing to a range of interests.
