Looking for a new spot to get some great soul food? You’re in luck. A popular eatery is now a part of the the Park Place neighborhood in Norfolk.
Croaker’s Spot, a soul food restaurant that originated in Richmond, is celebrating its grand opening Wednesday night at its new location at the old Newport Plaza at 35th Street and Newport Avenue.
Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim and other local and state lawmakers will be on hand for the opening, which has been a couple years in the making.
In 2014, the City Manager made 35th Street a priority for revitalization. The corner where the restaurant now stands was rezoned to allow an “entertainment establishment” on the property.
