The Sandler Center is hosting an art exhibit featuring late Virginia Beach artist Brock Childress. The exhibit will run through October 26th.
Childress was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach and did not sell his work. As a young boy, he was always interested in fine arts and was mentored for many years by Retha Seidel, another well-known local artist. He reportedly created his art simply for the joy of painting.
He was the first artist to be featured in the Sandler Center Gallery in 2010. For the first time, all pieces will be available for purchase during this exhibit.
Childress passed away in September 2014.
The Brock Childress exhibit will be on view in the second and third floor lobbies from August 25 – October 26, 2015 during the Sandler Center’s normal operating hours: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or during any performance at the Sandler Center.
