The Sun Shines on Toddler Days at the Children’s Museum of Virginia

If you haven’t been to the Children’s Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth lately, next week is the time to check it out. The tourists are gone, the camps are finished, it’s too early for school groups, and next week our kid’s gem on High Street is focusing on your little ones.

Drop your big kid off for his or her second week of school and bring your toddler down to the Children’s Museum of Virginia for Toddler Days.

It’s happening September 15-18 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and the Beasley Planetarium has a new, toddler-friendly show called “Sunshine.” Your child is encouraged to get loud and excited and interact with the sun and explore the sky with him, while going over some colors and having a great time.

Then don’t forget all of the fun, interactive learning exhibits in the big museum that cover everything from trains to tooth brushing. It’s a great way to have a fun, educational morning and wear your toddler out before their afternoon nap.

Admission to the museum is $10 for children ages 2-17, $11 for adults and discounts are available for seniors, AAA members, and military members with a valid ID.
