Trees for Troops 2016

The holiday spirit is being delivered to several local military bases this week — in the form of hundreds of Christmas trees.

The 12th annual Trees for Troops program is in full swing.

Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, and Joint Base Langley-Eustis will receive hundreds of trees this Friday, which will be distributed to military troops and their families on a first come, first served basis. The Coast Guard base in Portsmouth gets its delivery Thursday.

If you’d like to make a contribution to the Christmas Spirit Foundation’s One Thousand Tree Campaign, this year’s donation period ends November 30. Donations made after Wednesday will go toward the 2017 campaign. Click here to buy a tree online.
