Newport News Park will be transformed by over 800,000 individual lights, creating animated holiday and fanciful scenes.

Dickens Christmas Town | Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center
Hampton Roads’ newest holiday tradition returns in 2016 with an entirely new entertainment line-up of musicians, parlor magicians, jugglers, actors, and carolers! Plus, a new enchanted Christmas tree forest, an animated puppet show, a magical snow fall, a petting zoo and more.

Dominion Garden of Lights | Norfolk Botanical Gardens
Don’t miss Virginia’s favorite holiday tradition. Bring your family and friends to our 21st annual light show extravaganza for a magical holiday experience. During this event, the Garden is transformed into a winter wonderland where you will enjoy a 2-mile drive through a million sparkling lights bringing the four seasons to life.

Winter Wonderland | Children’s Museum of Virginia
The Children’s Museum of Virginia transforms into a fully interactive Winter Wonderland. Events include planetarium shows, gingerbread house making workshops, parties with Santa, live music and so much more. There will even be SNOW falls!

Winter Wonderland | Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center
From Victorian scenes of animated skaters and carolers to the enchanted forest of bears, deer and Santa’s workshop, the displays are sure to delight visitors of all ages. During Winter Wonderland we also offer an array of holiday activities including crafts, face-painting, tasty treats, performances including plays, music and song, and horse-drawn carriage rides.

Virginia Beach

Santa’s Seaside Village | 30th Street & Atlantic Avenue
Take a spin on carnival rides, visit with the animals at the petting farm, take a pony ride, and thrill to the holiday lights and decorations throughout the village. Best of all, visit with Santa and take a photo as a souvenir.

McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach | On the Boardwalk between 2nd and 34th Streets
Take a shiny journey into nautical, holiday, and adventure lands – all along the beautiful Virginia Beach boardwalk. Festive fish, jumping dolphins, frolicking porpoises – all in bright, colored lights against the clear night-time sky, are the stars of McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach.

A Colonial Christmas | Jamestown Settlement
“A Colonial Christmas” at Jamestown Settlement and American Revolution Museum at Yorktown offers a glimpse of 17th- and 18th-century holiday traditions through interpretive programs and demonstrations.

6 p.m. | A Christmas Carol | The Wells Theater
It wouldn’t be the holidays without Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at VSC! This heartwarming tradition for the whole family follows the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future as they visit Ebenezer Scrooge and remind us all of hope, redemption, and love.
