This annual commemoration of the “Southern Bunker Hill” has interactive and educational activities for all. On both days, there will be a re-enactments of the Battle of Great Bridge, demonstrations of colonial life, encampments, historical exhibits, colonial character portrayals, merchants and children’s activities.

This Christmas Parade is sure to put you in the holiday spirit with beautiful floats, local high school bands, dance teams, community law enforcement, and of course Santa himself! Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets!

6 p.m. – 8 p.m. | Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade | Begins at Mt. Pleasant Rd. & Battlefield Blvd.
Annual Christmas parade produced by the City of Chesapeake and the Chesapeake Rotary Club. The parade begins at Mt. Pleasant Rd. and Battlefield Blvd. and ends in front of City Hall on Cedar Rd. Most roads will close by 5:15 p.m. in and around this parade. This years Grand Marshall is Mayor Alan Krasnoff.

10 a.m. | Wards Corner 10k | Race starts at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension
Wards Corner 10K is a great way to celebrate the arrival of the season in scenic Wards Corner while supporting a worthy cause. Participants will enjoy a great run/walk through the picturesque Wards Corner, Talbot Hall and Riverpoint neighborhoods. The post-race party will feature food from local vendors, beer from local breweries and live entertainment.

12 p.m. | 3rd Annual Holiday Yule Log and Christmas Marketplace | Town Point Park
This festive outdoor wonderland will feature unique and local crafters, a massive Yule Log bonfire, Christmas caroling with a take home carol book, and also a visit from the big-man himself, Santa Claus. This exciting, inaugural 5K Pajama Run is a kick off for our 8th Annual “PJs for the Holidays Pajama Drive.” Runners are encouraged to wear their pajamas during the race and to bring pajamas to donate. The race will be one of our major fundraisers in 2016. 100% of the funds raised will help support our program throughout the Hampton Roads community.
