Hampton Roads Film Receives International Nod

A Hampton Roads independent film group received international acclaim for a movie filmed right here at home.

Skelly Films has been on the film festival circuit with their newest title, Christine at the Crossroads, which was shot entirely in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Portsmouth with local talent and crew members.

Curve Magazine describes the movie as, “A new film (that) takes us through the life of a woman struggling with her inner feelings and attractions for women since an early age. Christine at the Crossroads embraces her struggle in a way that so many can relate.”

The film so far has earned such accolades as Best Romantic Feature by the 2015 Bare Bones International Film Festival and Best Supporting Actor – Brett Moye at the Eastern North Carolina Film Festival. It will also be screening this fall at the Barcelona International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival where it has been nominated for a diversity award, according to a Skelly Films media release.

It stars local actors Diane Sokolowich, Anna Sosa and Brett Moye.

Movie-goers interested in checking out the film can see it at the American Theatre in Hampton, Thursday June 25 in honor of Pride Month and during Hampton Roads PRIDE Week June 21 – 27.
