One of the most popular and successful power pop/rock bands to come out of the 757 in the last several years is heading back to the stage for their annual holiday concert. In years past, Holly Would… have packed The NorVa with their high energy and electric show but this year they are going to turn the amps off and settle for a more intimate and acoustic vibe. This year’s festivities will take place Saturday night at Shaka’s Live at the Oceanfront with special guests Truss, Caleb Folks and The Reset – who will all be performing special acoustic sets.
A DJ will also be spinning so lovely tunes between each set as well as a tacky Christmas sweater contest and a silent auction where you’ll be able to bid on a variety of gifts donated by local businesses such as custom hand-blown lamp from Gellatly Glass and dance lessons from Just Dance On.
There is no cover but the band is asking for a minimum donation of $1 and a canned good to get in with all of the proceeds going to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. Four great bands, a DJ, a silent auction and a tacky sweater contest all for a great cause – I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday night. Doors open at 5:30pm, so get there early as this show will sell out.
