This year’s April Fools has come and gone and a lot of people were fooled with several non-truthful items on social media but two bands released new singles yesterday that was definitely not a trick.
Norfolk’s Major and the Monbacks debuted their first single, Somedays, from their much-anticipated self-titled album due for release May 12. Recorded in Nashville at the famed Welcome to 1979 studio, the band captured their signature ’60s southern soul sound using the studios vintage equipment. You can pre-order the album in digital, CD or vinyl formats on April 8th and you can see them perform at the inaugural LAVA Music Festival in Suffolk May 16.
Virginia Beach’s Step Pets, featuring members of The Influence, released their new single from their upcoming self-titled record that will be released September 1st. The band will be release a new song from the album on the first of every month until the record is out. Recorded by guitarist Chris Kendrick at his Whiskey Bear Studios, Wolfsnare, is a great and gritty rock ‘n’ roll tune that will have you hitting the repeat button until..well, next month – when they release another new song. You can see them perform April 17 at Chicho’s Virginia Beach with counterfeit molly.
