NSU, HU Grads Keep the Beat for Beyoncé

A Destiny’s Child reunion wasn’t the only surprise Beyoncé had in store for fans during her performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Saturday.

Alumni from Norfolk State University and Hampton University performed alongside the singer-songwriter as she sang hits like “Crazy In Love,” according to an NSU Facebook post.

The group of college alumni were dubbed the “DRUMLine Live,” and included representatives from schools like Tennessee State University, Florida A&M University and the University of Georgia.

Decked out in yellow, white and black drumline costumes, some of the college alumni played instruments while others danced in the background.

Hampton University confirmed to hrScene.com that Ralph Nader, a 2010 HU grad was part of the drumline and Kiira Harper, class of 2011, was a dancer in the Coachella performance.
