What’s Happening: Symphony Under The Stars

While some people plan on partying it up on Labor Day weekend, there is a more relaxing option for your Sunday evening to celebrate. You can make your way out to Chesapeake for the Symphony Under the Stars on Sept. 2.

Enjoy classic, pop and jazz music live from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra on the Bagley Stage.

ArtsAlive! Chesapeake will feature a “Wine for the Arts” tent with wine tastings, raffles and a silent auction to benefit art programs in the area.

Grab a bite to eat from a variety of food trucks at the evening picnic. The Orchestra has decided to play music paying tribute to powerful females.

“Kind of like a concert honoring women. So all of the pieces have something related to women. The strength and the will of women,” said Gonzalo Farias, Assistant Conductor.

You can catch Sunday’s show at Chesapeake City Park. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own chairs or blanket. This event is free and open to the public.
