If you’ve never been to the Bahamas, Jamaica or Aruba, here’s your chance to get immersed in the vibrant Caribbean culture. Make your way to Norfolk for the 13th annual CaribFest.
Groove to the sounds of Kes the Band, Patrice Roberts, David Rudder and more. Indulge in flavorful dishes from food vendors. And you can’t miss the parade! It’s a celebration of not only the Caribbean culture, but a celebration of cultures from across the globe.
“The parade will be taking place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and that is when we have what will be called mas. Mas is short for masquerade. Where we will have groups of individual mas bands, colorful costumes. It is how we represent our culture through art,” said Curtis and Cherrelle Brown, organizers of the event.
Come out to the 2018 Caribfest in Town Point Park this Saturday from noon-10 p.m. Admission is $10 and up.
Kids five years old and under get in for free.
