Before Saturday, you might want to loosen up your pants or skirt by at least an inch or two. Why? Because you’re going to be stuffed after leaving the 12th annual Taste of Suffolk street festival.
Taste of Suffolk is taking place this Saturday, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m until 5 p.m. in downtown Suffolk along Main Street. It’s free to attend!
Indulge in delectable dishes from more than 20 local eateries in Suffolk while listening to live music or checking out the car show. The kiddos can play in the bounce houses, make crafts, get their face painted and more in the Taste of Suffolk Children’s Area on West Washington Street.
For the first year in the festival’s history, there will be a beer garden at the Oderzo Fountain beside the Godwin Courts Building featuring craft brews from local and statewide breweries.
In addition to the live music entertainment on the Washington Street Stage, Buffalo Wild Wings will host wing-eating contests will be held throughout the day on the Market Street Stage. If you thing you have what it takes to win, you can sign up at their Contest Tent.
“Bring your family, bring your friends. Everyone can get what they want. Not everyone has to like the same type of food. You can try out everything. We have everything from sushi, desserts, tacos, pizzas…it’s all there for you,” said Emily Upton, Suffolk’s Parks and Rec Special Events Coordinator.
