If you’re in the mood for something a little smaller, the Mount Trashmore Summer Carnival starts up this weekend. And don’t forget about Drive-In movie in the Park: The Goonies in Suffolk.

Saturday-Sunday/Blackbeard Pirate Festival/Downtown Hampton
The annual Hampton festival celebrates Hampton’s rich maritime heritage by commemorating the demise of their most infamous visitor, Captain Edward Teach, a.k.a. Blackbeard the Pirate. There will be re-enactments, pirate procession, street entertainers, demonstrations, shows, fireworks and more.

Saturday-Sunday/Historic Trades Fair/Jamestown Settlement
Blacksmiths, potters, turners, carvers, spinners and more gather at Jamestown Settlement to showcase historical trades and sell crafts and wares. The weekend event coincides with the opening of the Jamestown Settlement special exhibition “Bartering for a Continent: How Anglo-Indian Trade Shaped America.”

Ongoing/The Addams Family/The Little Theatre of Norfolk
In this laugh-a-minute musical based on the TV Series and comic strip about the creepy and kooky and altogether spooky family we have all grown to love, Wednesday Addams, the princess of darkness, has fallen in love with a young man from a respectable family. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change when Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents come over for dinner with the Addams family.

The Norfolk Tides are the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and a member of the International League. The 2016 season will be the Tides’ 48th season at the Triple-A level and 24th season at Harbor Park. It will also be Norfolk’s tenth season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
