Military Minute: Will Donegan

He has actively served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 4 years and recently helped rescue a man off Cape Charles Beach. This week, we are proud to recognize Boatswains mate 3rd Class Will Donegan.

On September 5th 2015, Donegan and his crew recovered a 60-year-old man. The man had become tired and was unable to swim against the ebbing tide, causing him to drift toward the jetty. Relying on his extensive training, Petty Officer Donegan quickly helped the swimmer to safety.

Donegan is originally from Athens, TN. He wanted to join the Coast Guard in order to help people in their time of need and assist in the conservation of marine resources. Donegan has been stationed on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Spencer and at Coast Guard station Cape Charles.
